Post-Cold War Conflicts

Today we did a practice quiz on the Cold War proxy wars and conflicts, and then began our study of the Post-Cold War era.  We completed a (very brief!) examination of 1989 - as a watershed year - as well as investigating briefly the First Gulf War, the Yugoslavian civil war, and the Somalian conflict.  We will finish up our study of Peacekeeping missions in Somalia and Rwanda next day.

As a bonus assignment in June, you will be asked to watch Hotel Rwanda, as a way of following up on our study of Genocide.
