End of Cold War

Ch. 6 is coming to a close and our last topics of discussion are the Trudeau Era, Salt Talks, Collapse of Soviet Union, Somalia, Yugoslavian civil war, Rwanda, and globalization. When you begin working on your study guide for this chapter, it's important to note the key concepts you are trying to identify.

1. What was the Cold War, and what were the main ways in which it was fought.
2. How was Canada involved OR not involved in the Cold War?
3. The key relationship that were are focusing on in the Cold War is between Canada and the United States - which events drew us closer together, and which events help us solidify our independent identity.

Your study guide assignment is due the day of the test. Please note that it is worth 20 marks, and I am expecting great and wonderful things from you. Use this as a way to study - include more detail than what is asked of you. Try and make connections between the terms and ideas. Categorize the information so that you demonstrate the ability to analyse content.

It is expected that you have read all of chapter 6 by day of the test. You will have an essay to write as part of your assessment.
