1920s: Roar & Protest
The 1920s wasn't a ROARING time for everyone. Today we did a quick review of:
1. Social Changes of 1920s
2. Economic Changes of 1920s
3. Canada's Struggle for Autonomy in 1920s (ability to control and determine our own affairs)
Then, we discussed the 3 major influences on Canada's political system, society and economy in more detail -- including American Influence, British (Victorian) Influence and Effects of WWI.
We finished off class by discussing Canada's response to these 3 influences including protests by women such as the Famous Five/Suffragettes.
Last, we discussed whether or not Victorian values were still relevant to us today...
Here's the powerpoint from today - as well as the handout that went along with it...
HW - Catch up on Webquest + Project - Canada and Conflict. It was also strongly suggested that you read and takes personal notes on Chapter 2, in order to stay on top of things. We will have a 1920s/1930s unit test when we return from Spring Break.
