Two classes have passed by, and I have neglected the blog posting a bit... so here's a quick review. We have examined the following environmental problems in detail:

1. Ozone Layer Depletion - CFC's, Montreal Protocol, Antarctica, Skin Cancer, Cataracts

2. Desertification - Sahel, China

3. Acid Rain - NO2, SO2, factories and car emissions, Clean Air Act, Acidic lakes, fish, plants, corroded buildings

4. Deforestation - Tropical Rainforest, Temperate Rainforest (coniferous forests), biodiversity

5. Groundwater Issues - Aquifer Depletion, Ogallala, Sinkholes, Pollution

6. Oil Spills + Our dependence on oil - Case Study: Gulf of Mexico

7. Climate Change & Greenhouse Effect

Here is the powerpoint that we reviewed in class on Environmental Issues and the homework was to create a world map with the key HOT SPOTS of the major issues shaded in. Make sure you have a legend and title.
