Cold War Conflicts

Today's class consisted of a review of two major questions:

• What were the different ways in which the USA and USSR were in competition with each other during the Cold War 
• How did Canada gain a stronger voice during the Cold War

We used this powerpoint to answers some of the questions - and examined the Korean War and the Suez Crisis as our first examples of proxy conflicts. 

We also watched part of the documentary Inside North Korea - Undercover (minutes 13-16) to see the DMZ, and parts of the Greatest Canadian: Lester Pearson to discuss the Suez Crisis.
